The National League for Nursing (NLN) Simulation in Nursing Education Scenarios contains 20 cases (10 core and 10 complex) that go beyond the volume I scenarios. These cases will challenge your nursing students to diagnose and treat rare cases in a clinical environment. Medical cases range from sickle cell anemia, experience with malfunctioning pacemaker/defibrillator to renal failure and acute severe pancreatitis.
These scenarios promote correct patient assessment and management of care and guidance in debriefing process with questions that utilize the QSEN (Quality and Safety Education for Nurses) competencies. The scenarios are mapped to the 2007 National Council Licensure Examination-Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN) test categories and are appropriate to use in any type of undergraduate nursing program.
