The Laerdal SimMan 3G Simulator utilizing the National League for Nursing Patient Cases offer faculty and educators realistic and challenging case-based  simulation to help students learn and apply the nursing process. These twenty (20) Patient Cases address major learning objectives applicable to all types of undergraduate

nursing programs. The SimMan 3G’s Auto Mode combines physiological and pharmacological models, pre-programmed Patient Cases and methods for managing model-based simulation. The instructor can tailor the difficulty of each case to match learner skills and to promote the development of:

 

• Patient assessment skills

• Identification of nursing diagnosis

• Management of care

• Implementation of appropriate interventions

• Evaluation of performance using guided reflection

 

Ten (10) medical cases reflect basic assessment, safety and infection control, prevention of complications and development of communication skills. Ten (10) surgical cases use the same patient history but require recognition and management of complications, advanced team collaboration and communication.
