    MicroSim Evaluation Tool

I have started to use MicroSim in the Year 2 of the BScN program. I would like to evaluate the effect on critical thinking/ self efficacy. Has anyone used a tool that I might implement for this?

    Re: MicroSim Evaluation Tool

    Michael and Wendy,

I'd caution you from getting too attached to it.  We use it in our paramedic program here and love it.  It's worked great for evaluation (especially using it with the CMS).

But, our license expired and Laerdal will not sell us a new license.  They have nothing to replace it -- so basically we found ourselves stranded mid-term.

Once the license expires the students will not authenticate with the CMS.

I know that this is an old post, but check out DecisionSimulation.com.  You will have to build your own cases into the system, but it is a great tool for creating additional evaluation tools based on branched scenarios.  I have evaluated the product, and it would be ideal as a bridge between lecture/textbooks and high-fidelity simulation.
