    Have you looked at your Video Recording Configuration where Patient monitor recording is enabled?  You have the choice to select from low, medium and high quality.  If you are using less than High, you may see dropped pixels in the traces [wave forms].  While there may still be some pixelation with high, it will be greatly improved.

     Another issue may be your network.  Patient monitor screen capture is communicated from the client computer to the AVS system over the network.  If packets are dropped, they should be resent, but if there are too many collisions, you could see some corruption on the patient monitor capture.  I think that only those pixels that are changing are being sent to update the AVS' capture of the screen, so dropped packets/pixels would not update again until a second pass.  Another theory might point to the software itself and as a result of its design to sync/index the patient monitor screen with the video, compromises were made that affect the quality.

     We use the high setting for quality, and generally see a pretty good image, although not as clear and crisp as the original.
