I ran into a little hiccup with 3G. In the help section it states that I can have the ‘Scenario Editor’ and ‘Instructor Application’ running simultaneously as this is useful when creating and testing scenarios.

I’m in the mist of converting SimMan scenarios (Classic style) into 3G style scenarios and I can’t test the scenarios on the instructor PC unless I have the 3G mannequin up and running. Is there a way that I can test scenarios just on the instructor PC without having to start the 3G mannequin?

As I am doing a lot of work at home (or tying to) to convert these scenarios at home, but can’t test them. I called Laerdal support yesterday (Thursday, May 28, 2009) and was instructed that they would give me an answer via email as all the 3G techs were in a meeting (which is cool with me). I just wanted to see if anyone knows the procedure to my above question.

Hello Gerald,

You need to start a virtual 3G on your PC.
Go to Start>All Progams>SimMan 3G>Server Application.
Once you started the application you will see an empty grey screen. This is your virtual 3G.
Don't close that application, start your instructor application and select the virtual manikin.
