AVS-inconsistent taping of simulations when connecting the tempDSPR files

We have been having difficulty without any clear underlying consistency with recording and storing simulations scenarios. Usually 3 out of 4 of my scenes will record and store correctly leaving one not able. THe error messages I get are as follows: "unable to copy files from the specified Laerdal video server avs1. Make sure that the video server computer contains a shared catalog named tempDSPR Files."  I click ok from that and then I get...."open file failed(7) can not join mp4 video files. " Click ok from that and get...." There was an error joining the monitor or video files from before and after suminlation pause. Some of the files may be corrupted."

I have done 24 test runs with no underlying consistent theme to when this error happens. Even tried not pausing the simulator during the simulation but still got the problem. The problem solving done so far is that I know the SIM computer and my AVS computer do have shared tempDSPR files- awaiting Laerdal tech to call back now.

    any help would be wonderful!

    Tracey,

I'm sorry that you have been having difficulty.  As you know two important components to the proper communication of video server and simulator client software is the network connection, and the ports used to partition out the signals between computers.  I suspect that your network performance is the most likely culprit.

You have likely gotten the help from Laerdal by now, so I am curious what you have learned from them.  If you are still trying to find a solution, can you tell me a little about your network: how your AVS and your client computer are connected to the network (switch, hub?), crossover cable?; wireless?

    Hi Tracey,

this is a known glitch in the system. Laerdal will say you have to make sure that the login names on both computres have to be the same, but the deliver the AVS pc pre-installed, so you can't really change anything on that one. A suggestion can be - provided by Laerdal - that you create a similar user account on both systems and that way you know they will communicate well.....but that doesn't solve the problem.

Luckily this doesn't happens all the time.

There is a user-based solution you can find here: http://simulation.laerdal.com/forum/files/folders/user_general/entry1565.aspx (in the downloads section, called auto-AVS).

I haven't had the change to try it, because the irregularities happen when i'm not in..:-(

    Good luck, Carlos
