    Mechanical CPR

Our department uses Lucas and Thumper devices on all workable arrests. Has anyone used either device on SimMan? In theory there should be no problem since it is designed to deliver AHA recommended depths. However I am cautious, but want our providers to train realistically.

    Re: Mechanical CPR

At our facility we use the LUCAS, but we refuse to let it be used on the SimMan. we have 2 old Skillmaster 4000 that may be used for LUCAS training. Although in theory indeed it can be used with a SimMan i don't think the electrical part inside the SM can endure such a strong (and longlasting) power.

We trying to figure out if the LUCAS can be downgraded so it uses less force for training purposes. That way maybe it can be used on SM

    cheers, carlos
