    Adding vocal sound Resources

Are there other SimPad users that have transferred vocal sounds using the Resource tool on SimDesigner?

When reading the manual, it indicates that importing vocal sounds is an option as long as they are .wav format. See attached snippet image.

I've gone through the process of adding the files using the Resource Pane, selecting .wav files, saving the scenario, and then testing with a VitalSim manikin.  No success with even seeing my customized vocal sounds on the SimPad upon opening the scenario.

    Please advise.

Having read your problem I was determined to find a solution. And I sort of did...

Yes, I have managed to import and use custom vocal files with SimPad in automatic mode, but not quite in the way I wanted.

I had hoped that importing a file into SimPad would allow me to play it through the SimPad in the same way that other inbuilt sounds can be played (by clicking on the speech bubble) but they never showed up.

However, using the vocal files in a Non-Medical Response to Correct Treatment (Obtain Patient History for example), Related Event (Ask questions) or Special Event (Time in state) one can control the vocal responses through pressing the relevant buttons in the scenario. You can even create custom events which describe the vocal responses for ease of use.

Have only tried this with a speaker plugged into a linkbox but it works and in concept should work with simulators...will get back to you

Trying your suggestion at the moment. Will let you know if I am successful. Plugged in a headset to the linkbox to hear sounds.
