Defib cables coming off during CPR

    Hi All,

We have an ongoning issue with the defib cables coming off our SimMan 3G during CPR.  It seems the metal studs do not fasten tightly enough and movement of the outter skin easily "un-pops" the cables from the lugs on the mannequin.

Has anyone else encountered this? does anyone have a solution?

    Thanks in advance,

    Hello Damien,

There is a solution for this. Please contact your local Laerdal Support to obtain the correct solution.

Re: Defib cables coming off during CPR

We found the problem was usually the CPR was moving the skin around, which rubbed against the defib cables and popped them off. While not 100%, we found the solution to be putting the extended length defib studs on the manikin. That seems to resolve the problem most of the time but we still have problem on occasion. We've been told that Laerdal is working on a different solution (maybe "locking" cables?) but I have not heard solid details.
